API 10th Anniversary Regional Celebration

The year 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of the API Fellowships Program, holding around 300 Fellows from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. To commemorate this special year and the achievements of the Program, 10th Anniversary Regional Celebration Steering Committee was organized, appointing Dr. Khoo Boo Teik as a Session Director and Ms. Joselina Cruz as a Managing Curator. Key objectives of the event were as follows:

  1. Commemorate the visionary founding of the API Fellowships Program;
  2. Showcase and publicize the achievements, influence and impact of the API Fellowships Program through the varied work and contributions of its Fellows;
  3. Critically assess the nature of intellectual challenges in the region, and the role of the API Fellowships in addressing them;
  4. Strengthen ties among members of the API Community; and
  5. Seek directions over the next 10 years for the API Community to act as an effective and distinct pool of public intellectuals in the region.
